Matthew 8:1-4 (NKJV)
1 When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.
2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean."
3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
Lepers & Multitude?
Leviticus 13:45,46 (NKJV)
45 Now the leper on whom the sore is, his clothes shall be torn and his head bare; and he shall cover his mustache, and cry, 'Unclean! Unclean!' 46 He shall be unclean. All the days he has the sore he shall be unclean. He is unclean, and he shall dwell alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.
To come to JESUS we all need to cross lines, like the leper did:
-Family
-Religion
-Prejudices
-Friends
-Etc.
"Lord, if You are willing, (desire, be disposed (forward), intend, please), You can (be able possible, could )make me clean.“
1. A CRUCIAL QUESTION:
Lord, do you want to cross all the lines before this multitude to heal a man like me?
2. A STATEMENT OF FAITH:
I know you have power to heal my body!
3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
JESUS TOUCHED PEOPLE:
Peter's mother-in-law:
Matthew 8:14-15 (NKJV) 14 Now when Jesus had come into Peter's house, He saw his wife's mother lying sick with a fever. 15 So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.
Two Blind men:
Matthew 20:29-34 (NKJV) 29 Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!"
34 So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.
The deaf Man:
Mark 7:32-33 (NKJV) 32 Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. 33 And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue.
The only one son of the widow:
Luke 7:12-14 (NKJV) … a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. […] 13 When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." 14 Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise."
Jesus said:
I am willing;
§Compassion
§Mercy
§Courage
§Determination
be cleansed
§Power and Authority
§Desire to see a new man
§Words that create life
1. Are we willing to CROSS LINES to meet JESUS?
2. Are we willing to believe in MIRACLES?
3. Are we willing to TOUCH PEOPLE with JESUS’ love?
