Pray for Canada in Jesus' name. Pr. Antonio Nasser - June 28th, 2009

1 Chronicles 29:10-13,17 (NIV) -King David's Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV) - The Lord's Prayer

Comparing the Two Prayers
I) HIS NAME IS HOLY
Matthew 6:9 “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
1 Chronicles 29:10 …"Praise be to you, O Lord,
God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. 11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
So...
1.His Name is Holy
2.He is the Lord and God
3.He is Eternal
4.His is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
5.Everything in heaven and earth belong to Him.
Question:

How can we take His name for granted?
John 1:18 (GW) 18 No one has ever seen God. God's only Son, the one who is closest to the Father's heart, has made him known.

JESUS is the Key here... In a pluralistic society Jesus is the Singular, the Unique. Many can talk about God, but only Christians can say: Jesus is the only way to God. To know God, we must know who Jesus is!

II) HIS KINGDOM
Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread.
1 Chronicles 29: 11 Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.
So...

1.He is the King who has a Kingdom
2.He is the Provider of all good things: wealth and honor
3.His will must be done: He is the ruler
4.He has all the power and authority over all
5.He rewards his servants

Questions:
1. How does His will be done on earth?
2 Corinthians 5:15 (NIV) 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
2.How can a country be blessed with wealth and honor?
Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.

III) HIS FORGIVENESS
Matthew 6:12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'
1 Chronicles 29: 17 I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness

1.A pure heart pleases God
2.He forgives and I have to forgive
3.He is the deliverer! We can trust on Him.

Questions:
1.How can I be approved by God?
2 Corinthians 13:5 (NIV) 5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?
2 Corinthians 13:5 (MSG) 5 Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don't drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it.

2.Do I have always to forgive others?

Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

When we enter in God's presence, we come to adore Him. Then we see ourselves as sinners and we come to confess our sins to Him. After His forgiveness, we will serve Him in a highest level, with a pure heart!.
