Filled with the Holy Spirit: Living according God’s will

Ephesians 5:17-21

The will of the Lord is that everyone:

1. Be convinced by the Holy Spirit – Regarding sin, righteousness and judgment
2. Be saved – Marked with the seal of promise
3. Be baptized in water – Obedience
4. Be baptized with (in) the Holy Spirit – Power to serve
5. Be filled with the Holy Spirit – Way of life

1. The Power of the Words

Comparing drunk people and people filled with the Holy Spirit, according to Ephesians 5:18

Drunk People:

Speak foolishness
Speak despising people
Speak complaining
Speak with no respect or fear

People filled with the Holy Spirit

Speak wisely
Speak valuing people
Speak with a grateful heart
Speak with the Fear of the Lord

2. The Power of the Testimony - Boldness

Acts 4:29, 31 "... and they spoke the word of God with boldness".

3. The Power of Signs and Wonders

Acts 4:30 - “… by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus."
Romans 15:18-19 - 18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient--
19 in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the SPIRIT OF GOD, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

4. The Power of Joy

Acts 13:52 (NKJV) - 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

JOY– (ancient hebrew): “A uniting together in joy”.
We are ONE with GOD, through JESUS, sealed with the HOLY SPIRIT.
