Teach = (greek) Didaskalia = “teaching, instruction, doctrine, precepts”.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2. ENDURANCE
“…so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures…”
endurance = (greek) hypomone = a remaining behind, a patient enduring.
Romans 5:3 (NIV)
3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance (hypomone);
3. ENCOURAGEMENT
encouragement = (greek) paraklesis comfort, consolation, exhortation (to call near)
2 Corinthians 1:3 (NIV)
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort (paraklesis),
God is the Source of all Endurance and Encouragement
Romans 15:5 (NIV) 5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,
4. HOPE
Rom 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

God is our Hope
